An Ninh Số launches AI behavior analysis cameras for mini supermarket chains

An Ninh Số has just introduced a dedicated AI behavior analytics camera line for mini-supermarket chains — the segment of convenience stores and minimarts under 200 m², which typically do not have dedicated security monitoring staff. The product is the result of a collaboration between An Ninh Số and an international tier-1 camera manufacturing partner, packaged into an all-in-one combo suitable for the budget of Vietnamese minimart chains.

Three Distinctive AI Features

Unlike traditional surveillance cameras that only record footage, An Ninh Số’s AI cameras process analysis directly on the camera chip (on-edge) and generate three types of actionable information:

Customer entry/exit counting — separately distinguishes entry and exit directions, avoiding duplicate counts when customers stand in front of the door for a long time. Data is displayed in real-time on the dashboard, useful for chain owners to compare with revenue at the same time and evaluate the conversion rate from visitors to orders.

Dwell area heatmap — aggregates 24-hour data in a heatmap format, showing which areas in the store customers linger in (which shelves attract customers) and which areas are overlooked. This data is extremely valuable for chain owners when deciding to rearrange shelf layouts or place promotional products.

Suspicious behavior alerts — AI detects familiar behavioral patterns of shoplifters: standing with their back to the camera abnormally long at small shelves, stuffing items into clothing, or swiping many items into a concealed basket without placing them on the POS counter. When detected, the system pushes an alert to the store employee’s tablet and saves a 30-second clip for review.

Designed for Minimart Chains, Not Large Supermarkets

The key difference of the solution is that it runs entirely on in-store infrastructure. The camera connects to an embedded GPU mini-PC placed in the store’s electrical cabinet, requiring no central server. Raw footage is NOT uploaded to the cloud; only metadata (counts, alerts) is sent to the chain’s dashboard. This approach reduces bandwidth costs and meets data security requirements — especially when cameras cover areas with customer personal data.

The solution is packaged into combos of 4 to 8 cameras (sufficient for stores of 80–200 m²), a pre-installed AI mini-PC, a 12-month software license, plus installation and training. The combo cost is under the average budget of a 10–30 store minimart chain, making the solution feasible for most small and medium retail businesses in Vietnam.

First Pilot Customers

Two minimart chains in Central Vietnam have been piloting the solution since February 2026, covering a total of 18 stores. After six weeks of operation, one chain reported detecting two cases of high-value inventory loss within the first month alone — an amount sufficient to cover the investment cost for that entire store.

An Ninh Số plans to expand commercialization from Q2/2026, with a 24-month warranty commitment and 24-hour technical support at six nationwide offices. Register to receive a quote at anninhso.com.
